what is a trojan ??
January 21st, 2009
A trojan horse is not a virus but it may carry them. Like the Trojan horse of antiquity it presents something very attractive and pretends to be something it is not. It comes in on freeware programs that then install hidden applications. They don’t run on their own but trick the user into running them. They can transfer themselves from one computer to another or from one program to other

what is a spyware ??
January 21st, 2009
Spyware is computer software that is installed in stealth mode on a personal computer to intercept or take partial control over the user’s interaction with the computer, without the user’s informed consent.
While the term spyware suggests software that secretly monitors the user’s behavior, the functions of spyware extend well beyond simple monitoring. Spyware programs can collect various types of personal information, such as Internet surfing habits, sites that have been visited, but can also interfere with user control of the computer in other ways, such as installing additional software, and redirecting Web browser activity. Spyware is known to change computer settings, resulting in slow connection speeds, different home pages, and/or loss of Internet or functionality of other programs. In an attempt to increase the understanding of spyware, a more formal classification of its included software types is captured under the term privacy-invasive software.

what is a virus ??
January 21st, 2009
In computers, a virus is a program or programming code that replicates by being copied or initiating its copying to another program. Viruses can be transmitted as attachments to an e-mail note or in a downloaded file, or be present on a diskette or CD. The immediate source of the e-mail note, downloaded file, or diskette you’ve received is usually unaware that it contains a virus. Some viruses wreak their effect as soon as their code is executed; other viruses lie dormant until circumstances cause their code to be executed by the computer. Some viruses are benign or playful in intent and effect (”Happy Birthday, Ludwig!”) and some can be quite harmful, erasing data or causing your hard disk to require reformatting.
